Peter Hagdahl is one of Sweden's most acclaimed artists in the field of new media. Since the early 1990s, he has systematically investigated those fields which new media has opened up to visual expression. His art stems from an interactive process that involves dialogue and collaboration in cultural theory, informatics, urbanism, science, and more. Key concepts in Hagdahl's work are influence, change, and transformation, where what is apparently stable is transformed into the ephemeral and volatile, thus disrupting the dichotomy between the two. This monograph presents recent work by Hagdahl - large paintings on acrylic plastic panels - alongside other work from the early '90s.
