Joel Shapiro - Works On Paper 2011-2013

Here Joel Shapiro extends the investigations of his recent suspended sculptures that explore the dispersion of form and colour in space, exchanging the 3D space of the gallery for the 2D plane of the paper, and industrial cordage and pigmentsoaked wood forms for aqueous eruptions of line and colour in gouache and charcoal.
