With an abundant variety of colours and decorative designs, Imari porcelain enjoyed widespread popularity in Japan during the 17th century, and later for a short period in Europe. This book presents the distinctive features of Koimari (Old Imari) and traces, through more than 300 samples, the evolution of styles through the early, mature, and final periods of its production.
