Children's Advertising In The Showa Era

This collection brings together advertising found in children's magazines between 1965 -69: the Showa era. Published separately in boys and girls magazines, often with circulations of more than one million copies, these images have been largely forgotten yet provide a unique insight into the dramatic changes that occurred in this period. Images of advertising and packaging for space travel and the Thunderbirds, Godzilla, action-hero's, dolls, sports, popular science and music, all appear among the hundreds of reproductions and images.
