Daniela Lobbert's works are reflections on classical modernism and its adaptation after 1945. Her large scale pictures consist of geometrically defined monochrome surfaces that recall architectural forms. For Lobbert, however, architecture is only interesting as a part of a reality that is created by man, as variation of a modernist aesthetic that is formed by economic concerns. In her paintings, Lobbert explores the abstraction of everyday objects, making them into tangible objects. With texts by Hans-Jurgen Lechtreck and Lisa Marei Schmidt.
