JHQ is short for Joint Headquarters and designates the merger of various military general staffs of NATO and the British armed forces in Germany. The complex located near Monchengladbach very much resembles a small town with a complete infrastructure and was built between 1952 and 1954; it is scheduled to close down in late 2013.
