This fully illustrated retrospective monograph, featuring both previously published and newly commissioned texts, is based on Kimsooja's project presented at the Korean Pavilion of the 55th Venice Biennale. The notion of "bottari" (bundle) as a totality and the concept of sewing have been central components of Kimooja's work for over three decades. The installation in the pavilion calls into question the dynamic between light and dark, visual knowledge and the unseen unknown, extending the metaphor as an interconnected whole to its origins in human ignorance. With contributions by Dan Graham, Michel Mossessian, Seungduk Kim, Youngwoo Lee and more.
