14th Lyon Biennale - Floating Worlds

Curated by Emma Lavigne, director of the Centre Pompidou-Metz, the 14th edition of the international exhibition in Lyon features more than 50 artists. Amid rampant globalisation which is generating constant mobility and a quickening of flows - the "liquidity" of the world and identities - this book explores the legacy and reach of the concept of the "modern" in today's art. Foremost are projects that challenge the abstraction of European modernity, in order to reassess its global reach. Participants include Cerith Wyn Evans, Hans Haacke, Jorinde Voigt, Nam June Paik, Marcel Broodthaers, Lara Almarcegui, Hans Richter, Terry Riley, Lygia Pape, and many more.
