Nico Krijno - How To Leave Your Body Behind

South African artist Nico Krijno's photography exists at the intersection of performance, painting, montage, and sculpture. His photographs are full of visual codes, riddles, patterns, and colour. Krijno builds sculptures using discarded materials and rearranges them over and over, photographing them during this process. The images are then are reprocessed and altered again into new forms through both collage and Photoshop, creating new narratives and meaning. Such explorations are representative of his experimentation with the perceived truths of objects, the medium of photography, and its broader history.
