Erasmus Schroter - Contest

As of 2010, Erasmus Schroter is working on his episode Contest parallel to the Leipzig Wave Gothic Meetings. The models of these images escape the usual life and counteract the traditional role models through consistent transgressions of sexual, religious and moral boundaries and taboos. Many of the young men provoke, dazzling in bizarre roles, to which they have been partly permanently committed by physical changes. The extensive series consists of large-format, color-captured portraits, which Erasmus Schroter always photographs in neutral, uneventful spaces. He intervenes with his analog color photographs in the current discourse of the sexes and addresses them from an unusual and original point of view. Erasmus Schroter does not show the strong sex, but protagonists who are rather fragile and out of balance.
