Erwin Polanc negotiates a special view of reality in his artist book Mago Uber Verritt . The image selection unites images that focus on seeing itself and its perception. His photographs deal with the anarchy of things (and things) and deny any narration. Rather, in the book they form a radical sequence of exploring and sampling places, traces and relationships. They bear witness to photographing and creating an autonomous space in the book. The possibilities of the book medium, developed in congenial cooperation with the well-known book designer Oliver Kimpel, are decidedly part of this artistic exploration. The 162 photographs in the book body are covered by a typographic parenthesis. The name of the book remains hidden. He is found in its entirety only on the spine and in the colophon. However, his word components and fragments appear in the book one after the other and occasionally confront the pictures in minimalist, stubborn forms.
