Gil & Moti - Forget & Remember

'Forget & Remember' explores the background and migration history of Gil Nader and Moti Porat's Jewish-Israeli families through their parents' collections. We are introduced to Yitzhak, Gil's father, and Naomi, Moti's mother, protagonists from whom we hear personal stories and learn about their very different collections. One has gathered everyday found objects, while the other keeps paintings by famous 20th-century Israeli immigrant artists. Together, these stories outline the complex creation, development, and current situation of the state of Israel. In this way, the artists explore the relationship between personal, subjective memories and collective memory.
