Christophe Brunnquel - The Drawing Centre Photographies 2013-2018

Christophe Brunnquell's book 'Photographies' is the fifth monograph of artist drawings published in the Drawing Centre series. These are indeed photographs of faces drawn on with black paint. Grays are reserved for the skin on female faces, while black surrounds the facial contours, full bleed. The painted masks, originating in common faces, set up an arrogant hieratic quality that speaks of nothing more than blinding pictorial expressions. Christophe Brunnquell (born 1969, lives and works in Paris) is a versatile artist working as much in the press and artistic consulting as in photography or fashion. He is the artistic director of Purple Fashion.
