Lieven Hendriks - Mirages

Mirages documents the work by Dutch artist Lieven Hendriks over a period of twenty years. In his paintings he gives shape to abstract concepts such as hope, comfort and desire. The manipulation of light always plays an important role in the construction of his works. The painted subjects evoke a field of tension with the historical idea of painting. His paintings thus balance between temporality and eternity, between presence and absence, between truth and deceit.
