RAVE is a meta-project and an artistic residency in the Friulian countryside, in the northeast of Italy, where animals saved from the slaughter-house now live. Over the years it has seen the participation of many international artists, including Regina Jose Galindo, Igor Grubic, Liliana Moro, Ivan Moudov, Adrian Paci, Diego Perrone, Tomas Saraceno and Giuseppe Stampone. The project was conceived by artists Isabella and Tiziana Pers, and aims to reimagine the role of contemporary art in relation to animal otherness. This publication explores the history of RAVE, from its foundation to now, through a conversation between Daniele Capra, Nico Covre and the two founders. In addition, the book features a wealth of images of the activities undertaken, the works created by the artists and portraits of the animals saved in over a decade of the project.
