Cast it #1

Writing, letterforms and typefaces are part of Lazy Dog's DNA, the name of the publishing house is there to suggest it. This is why we took up the invitation of the Cooperativa Anonima Servizi Tipografici to create "Cast it", the annual publication that responds to two needs: to promote the history and culture of typeface together with foundry typefaces. "Cast it" issue 1 uses the entry 'Foundry typeface' from the Dictionary of Arts and Crafts as a sample text to showcase CAST typefaces. This 1769 text is - as James Clough notes in the preface - the first contribution on the subject ever published in Italian.
