In 1966, Paul Mogenesen came to New York from Los Angeles and painted one of his major works, the 16-part painting "Cooperopolis", which was exhibited shortly afterwards in the legendary Bykert Gallery and introduced Mogensen as one of the outstanding painters of his generation. "Cooperopolis" is the manifesto of a new idea of painting that reflected on fundamental questions of construction and color, related to monograph tells the story of the work in the New York context of the 1960s, complemented by a conversation with the artist.
