Mikiya Takimoto - Lumiere

Active as a photographer since 1988, Mikiya Takimoto involves himself in a diverse range of activities, from shooting advertising photos to publishing his own art photography. He also has a remarkable way of catching light when he presses the shutter - light that has travelled huge distances across an infinite vacuum, and that no one has ever seen before. With this in mind, 'Lumiere' is a gorgeous ode to the blooming flowers and budding trees on this planet. As Masao Morita writes, "Takimoto's photographs teach us that a flower is a vast landform. No matter what kind of computer you use, you cannot predict the changes in the flowing drops of liquid or the shadows of the delicate light."
