Through his work, Japanese photographer Yoshiki Hemmi investigates the question of coexistence with renewable energy development. This series allows us a bird's-eye view of sprawling solar farms nestled into a variety of landscapes, from forests and fields to mountains. The energy may be clean and renewable, but at what cost? Hemmi's photographic work places trust in the important aspects which photography as a medium has assumed in the course of history - a sincerity that is precious in times of AI-generated images and the denial of documentary truths. As such, his images seem to indicate new possible ways of interconnecting social issues and artistic photography.
