Jonathan Monk - Limited Company

Using a photo wallpaper presented by Jonathan Monk in Vienna in 2022 as a starting point, this publication shows his series of wallpapers which form a growing archive that visualises the artist's exhibition history. In his work, British artist Jonathan Monk often repeats, alienates and questions pioneering works of conceptual art and minimal art. His aesthetic strategy deliberately oscillates between homage and persiflage. In murals, paintings, sculptures and photographs, he demystifies the narrative of art as the result of a genius creative process. The ongoing series of photo wallpapers, which began in 2016, functions as a growing archive that visualises the artist's exhibition history.
