Whether Tavares Strachan undertakes expeditions to the Arctic to send a block of ice to his native city of Nassau on the Bahamas, completes training as a cosmonaut, launches a golden canopic jar with the portrait of the first Black astronaut into orbit, or creates his own alternative to the Encyclopaedia Britannica -his bold, poetic-conceptual works are structured by a visual language of storytelling and locate the narratives of the Black diaspora as central expressions within Western knowledge systems. The soundtrack developed for SUPERNOVAS in collaboration with musician Runkus is included as a flexidisc.
