Paul Dash – Dancing in the Street

This publication celebrates Paul Dash’s enduring commitment to art, education and the representation of diasporic experience. A key member of the Caribbean Artists Movement, Dash depicts everyday life and communal celebration with rhythmic energy and cultural depth. His compositions evoke movement, colour and ritual, capturing social spaces where migration, memory and belonging find joyful expression. Shaped by his journey from Barbados to Britain in the late 1950’s and the wider histories of the Caribbean diaspora, his paintings engage questions of identity while foregrounding the lasting power of community and cultural resilience.
