The catalogue Masters Builders is conceived as a textual and visual document of the process of the experimental construction of the Slovenian pavilion at the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, and works to further elucidate the project's intents and content. It is structured as a dramaturgical interplay of architectural theory and history; as a statistical analyses of Slovenian construction sites, as the technical presentation of totems, a construction diary, as debates with masters, and as reflections on architectural drawings and literary texts. The worlds of architects, builders, and craftsmen are exposed and connected on an entirely level playing field. In addition to the various textual materials, a key component of the catalogue consists in the original photographs by Klemen Ilovar, which document the work process and capture the atmosphere of the construction.
