C3 444 - TAKK Architecture After the Human Center

TAKK begins from a deliberate displacement. In the work of Barcelona-based Mireia Luzarraga and Alejandro Muino, architecture becomes a negotiation among climates, bodies, animals, plants, materials, economies, technologies, rituals, and political imagination. The human subject is no longer the sole protagonist. TAKK's research-driven practice engages with feminism, queer ecologies, and how design may contribute to more egalitarian societies. More than 20 projects by TAKK are featured, along with an in-depth analysis of their work. Also in this issue, "Shells of Sensation" explores architecture in which nature is translated into a spatial experience humans sense and remember.
