Irmeli Kukkapuro - Portals is the first publication dedicated to the art of Irmeli Kukkapuro. Edited by Paivi Helander and Ida Kukkapuro, it offers an intimate journey into the artist's previously little-known creative world. Alongside a major essay by art historian Asta Kihlman, the book presents graphic works, drawings, and photographs of more than 320 objects from the artist's corner at Studio Kukkapuro - tools, materials, and treasured sources of inspiration. A versatile Finnish artist (1934-2022), Kukkapuro explored gender, form, space, and color through printmaking, painting, collage, and object compositions, describing creation as "breathing in and breathing out."
