Cursors and Cursers is the first comprehensive monograph dedicated to the work of Michael Dean, bringing together two decades of practice - sculpture, installation, exhibition views, writing, and Dean's own artist books - into a single, expansive 800-page volume. Designed by Michael Dean himself, the publication continues his long- standing engagement with writing and self-publishing as integral parts of his artistic output. Michael Dean's work moves between sculpture and language, treating text - its letterforms, sounds, and physical weight - as raw material to be cast, bent, and built into bodies of concrete, steel, and paper. Often engaging with systems of value and subsistence, his sculptures and installations probe the space where language fails or falls short, giving physical form to what words alone cannot hold.
