Jules Spinatsch - pitalismus ist ill

This photobook celebrates 35 years of work by Swiss artist Jules Spinatsch, presenting the broad media spectrum of his works together with a closer look at his artistic approach. Spinatsch transfers both his own and found visual material into publications, image series, photographic installations, and video works. Starting from a documentary approach - "from what is, not from what should be" - the artist explores the possibilities of photography: whether on site and from a direct observation of social events or using semi-automated recording processes that combine seemingly opposing principals such as chance and control into new forms of imagery.
