Dennis Morris is a British-based artist who has used the camera to produce an in-depth body of work on extraordinary individuals. He photographed a relatively unknown Bob Marley, was the Sex Pistols’ most trusted photographer and has documented the likes of The Stone Roses, Radiohead and The Prodigy. 40 years after being told that he would never make it as a photographer, Dennis Morris published this book documenting black British life in London in the 60s and 70s. Having moved to Hackney, with his family, at 4 years of age, Morris's book documents the lives of black people in his native Hackney and beyond, in a time that Morris has described as being full of vibrancy and hope.
